Affordable Hearing Solutions is seeking a temporary Patient Care Coordinator (Maternity leave coverage JULY TO OCTOBER). This position entails reception and scheduling for a full-time Audiologist who sees patients for a range of hearing health care related appointments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Scheduling and reception. (Appointments for hearing tests, hearing aid evaluations, hearing aid repairs and maintenance, ear mold impressions).
- Contact patients to confirm appointments, update patient information including demographics and insurance in compliance with HIPAA.
- Manage financial transactions.
- Manage the office e-mail for patient communications.
- Answer telephone/e-mail inquiries by providing basic and accurate information in person or via phone/email.
- Verify patients insurance benefits for hearing health.
- Triaging calls and assisting Dr. Malcolm by filtering sales calls and patient related questions that can be answered after a training period.
- Greet patients immediately upon their arrival and provide excellent customer service.
- Disinfect the audiobooth and surfaces between each patient/ visitor.
- Weekly office cleaning (empty garbages, sweep/swiffer floors, vacuum, wipe down stations, bleach down bathroom surfaces).
- Clerical receptionist duties such as faxing, scanning and labeling.
- Pulling and re-filing charts daily in preparation for the next day.
- Complete training on how to clean and do minor repair of hearing aids as needed.
Position Qualifications:
- 2 Years of medical office experience with references REQUIRED
- Prior Audiology/ Hearing Healthcare experience a PLUS but not a requirement
- Experience with medical insurance billing is a PLUS
- Full-time availability (M-T 9 AM - 5 PM) (F 9-3)
- Must be able to work well independently
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Pay commensurate with experience
