Assistance: Assisting students, especially those with special needs or mobility challenges, in securely boarding, seating, and exiting the bus. This may involve operating lifts, securing wheelchairs, and fastening safety vests/belts.
Supervision: Monitoring students throughout the route to prevent conflicts, distractions, and unsafe behaviors, and reporting any significant issues to the driver and/or supervisor.
Emergency Support: Assisting the driver during emergency situations, including evacuations, as instructed.
Communication: Interacting professionally and respectfully with students, parents, school staff, and the bus driver.
Equipment Checks: Ensuring all safety equipment, such as car seats, restraints, and securement devices, are in proper working order prior to and after each route.
