Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers following all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes.
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment like forklifts, adhering to safety protocols for cargo handling and hazardous materials regulations.
- Transport various types of freight including hazardous materials, dangerous goods, freight requiring special handling such as tanker or flatbed loads.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in accordance with DOT and FMCSA guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly.
Requirements
- Valid CDL license with a minimum age of 18+ years old; clean driving record required.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat) and dangerous goods handling is a plus.
- Ability to manually handle cargo safely during loading/unloading processes; forklift certification is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation), FMCSA regulations, and hazard regulations governing truck driving.
- Experience operating manual transmissions on tractor-trailers or other heavy-duty vehicles preferred.
- Excellent navigation skills using GPS systems; ability to plan efficient routes for over-the-road journeys.
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and manual handling tasks associated with cargo management.

Pay: $2,268.11 - $2,731.48 per week
