New Park Event Venue & Suites is looking for an Event Coordinator. Responsibilities include sales (taking couples on tours of the venue), marketing (social media, blog writing, and events), prepping and attending weddings and other special events. Be there all weekend, making sure everything is going smoothly, and working with the rest of the staff as needed to clean, set up, tear down, and just generally be available for questions. You should be very personable, professional, and a strong problem solver.
Preferred experience in hospitality, hotels, weddings, events, and marketing, and willing to train the right candidate. The role requires someone charismatic and personable as well as tech-savvy and detail oriented. While the primary role will be supporting the events, you'll also be responsible for documenting the events on social media, and writing up blog posts afterwards for our website. It's a busy role!
This role is part office-job, on the computer, working in software programs that manage our weddings, and part on-your-feet, running around, carrying tables and chairs around. If you're not comfortable in both settings, this won't be the right role for you!
Weekends are required in this role, and will include some late nights (some of our events go until 1am). We stick to an 8 hour workday every day, except for event days, which can be 10 hours days.
Must be available to work MOST weekends, Friday / Saturday / Sunday. If you have a vacation planned this summer, that's totally fine (let us know when you apply), but in all transparency, if you bring us a long list of vacations and weekends you can't work, this particular role isn't going to work for you, but you can look at our other positions. Must be located in the Finger Lakes area (will not consider remote for this role).
