The Estimator establishes strong working relationships with vendor partners as well as negotiating the best pricing available. They are also responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, takeoffs, final pricing and packages as well as project and daily work order activities for architectural interior projects. The Estimator works closely with sales, design, and project management teams, and ensures that proposals are accurate, competitive, and aligned with client goals and building specifications.
This position reports to the Vice President of Architectural Solutions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Departmental Assistance

Assist Sales and Designers with product research and technical order information.

Coordinate all customer projects and work orders: implementation of customer orders and service requests. Creates project number and quote.

Completes any necessary revisions to order throughout budgeting process.
- Pricing
-
Obtain, maintain, and track updated and accurate information in the estimating database as well as ensuring historical data for budgeting purposes
- Ensure quotes and projects are managed and kept current in the database
- Request quotes from suppliers, efficiently, accurately, timely and in an organized manner (materials, labor, design, etc.)
- Request and negotiate pricing from vendors (depending on size of order) for both service and product

Assist in the preliminary budgeting and quoting for clients.
- Develop and submit estimate for proposals to prospects/clients

Develop and help with any bid packages that are required
- Complete bid/RFP forms and/or documents

Sales Order Management
- Assists Architectural Solutions Specialist in ensuring a responsible close of sale by confirming signed sales orders (and terms & conditions, if appropriate), client purchase orders, and forwarding deposit requests when required.
- Stays involved throughout sale implementation to ensure any changes in scope are identified and resolved
- Attends status report meetings as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

3-5 years in estimating in a customer service-related field, preferably within commercial furniture, architectural products, construction, or related fields.

Exceptional customer service skills & multi-tasking abilities

Collaborate with sales and design teams to select appropriate wall systems and configurations based on client needs, building code requirements, and budget constraints.

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with supplier order entry/warranty software (i.e., Khameleon) is preferred
- Familiarity with architectural wall systems such as DIRTT, Maars, Muraflex, Teknion, Steelcase, or similar systems is highly preferred.
