Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Concrete Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality concrete finishing work on a variety of construction projects, including commercial, residential, and restoration sites. Your expertise in concrete work, combined with your knowledge of construction safety protocols and blueprint interpretation, will ensure the delivery of durable and visually appealing concrete surfaces. Responsibilities
- Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and shaping freshly poured concrete using hand tools and power tools such as trowels, floats, and edgers.
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate placement and finishing of concrete according to specifications.
- Prepare work sites by setting up formwork, rebar installation, and ensuring proper alignment before pouring concrete.
- Operate concrete mixers and pumps to facilitate efficient pouring processes across various project sites.
- Execute concrete cutting, sealing, caulking, and stucco applications as needed for restoration or renovation projects.
- Maintain strict adherence to construction workplace safety regulations and safety protocols during all phases of work.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, and other tradespeople to coordinate tasks such as metal stud framing, masonry work, flooring installation, tile laying, roofing, and heavy lifting activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working on construction projects with a focus on concrete finishing and related trades such as plastering or masonry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of tools including hand tools, power tools, concrete mixers, pumps, saws for cutting concrete, and other heavy equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical specifications for formwork construction and rebar installation.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes is a plus for understanding project scope and resource needs.
- Knowledge of construction site safety regulations including OSHA standards or equivalent safety protocols is essential.
- Skills in concrete pouring, finishing techniques such as troweling and floating, as well as surface sealing or caulking for weatherproofing or aesthetic purposes.
- Experience with renovation projects involving stucco application or restoration work is advantageous.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions throughout the construction site.
