Responsibilities
- Assist with animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations and procedures
- Support veterinary technicians with medication administration, laboratory work, and sample collection
- Provide pet care and animal husbandry, including trimming nails and cleaning kennels or cages
- Help with animal injections, and basic veterinary procedures under supervision
- Maintain accurate records of treatments, medications, and patient information in accordance with veterinary terminology standards
- Support front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and managing patient intake forms
Requirements
- Prior experience in veterinary clinics is highly valued; pay will be commensurate with experience within a veterinary setting
- Strong knowledge of animal handling techniques, dog handling, and pet care best practices
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques is a plus
- Experience with animal restraint, medication administration, and laboratory work is desirable
- Ability to work effectively with animals of various species including dogs and cats
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members in a professional manner
- A passion for animal welfare combined with a proactive attitude to learn and grow within the veterinary field
