Summary:
- The main function of a supervisor/manager – production is to supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
- Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
- Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.
- Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances.
- Set and monitor product standards to ensure quality finished products.
- Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
Skills:
- Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree in business or related field preferred.
- 2 - 4 years experience required.

- A typical day starts with participating in the project’s High-Risk Activity (HRA) meeting to review planned work, identify hazards, and align on safety expectations.
- The Safety Manager then spends most of the day in the field, maintaining a visible presence, observing work, engaging with contractors, and providing immediate guidance to address safety concerns.
- The role supports all major construction activities, including precast erection and MEP work, by reviewing operations, coaching trades, and ensuring safe execution.
- The Safety Manager also participates in OAC, coordination, and project team meetings, tracks corrective actions, and represents as a proactive safety leader focused on safe, efficient project delivery.
What is the ideal background of a candidate for this role?
- The ideal candidate has significant safety leadership experience on large-scale construction or mission-critical projects, with strong knowledge of precast erection and MEP systems.
- They are a visible, hands-on leader who spends time in the field, works directly with contractors, identifies risks, and provides immediate corrective guidance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to represent in HRAs, OACs, and project meetings are essential.
