Line Cook – Job Description/Requirements
Summary
The Line Cook must be hard-working, self-motivated person with a passion for cooking and a strong desire to learn new skills in the kitchen.
Job Requirements:
- At least 2 years kitchen experience as a line cook, though willing to train the right person.
- Exceptional attention to detail, food quality, sanitation and safety.
- Experience with all kitchen equipment a plus.
- Ability to work well with management, co-workers and guests. Friendly, personable
and honest.
- Passion for cooking and love craft beer.
- Knowledge of health codes and excellent safe food handling practices.
Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain clean, organized and well stocked work space in a fast pace setting.
- Complete all necessary tasks effectively and efficiently with direction from Chef.
- Adhere to all food safety related policies as stated by management.
- Consistently adhere to Chef’s expectations of base preparation, mise en place,
execution, and plate presentation.
Physical Requirements:
Occasional lifting/moving up to 50-60lbs. Bending, stretching, and reaching. Will also need to kneel, stoop or crouch. Using and moving pots, pans, and equipment to locations for cleaning, cooking, etc. Stand for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision and distance vision.
Education & Experience:
HS Diploma or GED and at least 2 plus years of cooking experience desired.
Certificates, Licenses:
Serve Safe Certified not required but preferred. Driver’s License
Work Environment
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is usually indoors sometimes outdoors in the beer garden. This is a brew/pub environment and will experience a moderate noise level.
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
