Midstates Elevator Company/Phoenix Modular Elevator is looking for an expert Elevator Mechanic to service our customers throughout the Northern Indiana region. You may service a local maintenance route, perform repairs, modernize elevators, install residential elevators and wheelchair lifts, or install modular elevators locally or around the country. Training will be provided for the right candidate. We believe in rewarding our employees for good work and that means you’ll get a share of the profits you help us generate. If you’ve toyed with the idea of going independent, but like the security of a steady paycheck, this could be the best of both worlds. We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following core values:
- Friendly: You work well with others, are positive and you avoid drama and gossip.
- Tenacious: You are determined and pride yourself on always reaching goals given to you. You aren’t afraid of difficult problems; you demonstrate a “never give up” spirit.
- Reliable: You show up every day and work hard until your job is done. You consistently deliver on promises and can be counted on to do what the business and customers need you to do.
- Innovative: You have an improvement mindset and come up with creative solutions to tough problems. You are open to exploring new ideas and embracing change to improve processes and outcomes.
- Collaborative: You contribute well to a team setting and like working with others to make their ideas even better. You are willing to pitch in when others need help
Our ideal mechanic is:
- Smart: You have a thorough knowledge of elevators, and broad experience on all types of elevators, traction and hydraulic, new and old, passenger and freight, residential and commercial.
- Problem Solver: You have excellent troubleshooting skills and can fix anything, electrical or mechanical. You pride yourself on getting to the root cause so that callbacks are minimal.
- Customer Focused: You realize our customers sign our paychecks, and take the time to fix their problems right the first time, explain what you’re doing, and don’t run up hours to try to inflate the bill.
- Business Minded: You’re able to survey a job, determine the needed materials, and estimate the time, to quote service jobs to customers. And you work efficiently so that we meet our cost goals on larger projects.
