McLoughlin Plumbing & Heating Co is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice - Plumber/HVAC. This is an entry-level position that offers hands-on training and the opportunity to learn and develop essential plumbing skills. As an Apprentice Plumber/HVAC, you will work alongside experienced plumbers and HVAC installers and assist in various plumbing and HVAC projects in order to start a career as a skilled craftsman in a stable trade.
Duties:
- Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and building codes
- Perform pipe threading, welding, and soldering tasks
- Assist in the assembly and installation of pipes, fittings, and fixtures
- Learn to operate power tools and equipment used in plumbing work
- Gain knowledge of HVAC systems and their components
- Assist in remodeling projects, including demolition and reconstruction
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug testing
- Desire to learn skilled trade
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work from heights or small crawlspaces
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks
- Willingness to follow instructions from experienced plumbers and HVAC installers
