Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles including commercial trucks and automobiles, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely drop-offs while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
- Load and unload merchandise with proper heavy lifting techniques, ensuring safety and product integrity.
- Communicate professionally with clients upon delivery, addressing questions or concerns to build strong customer relationships.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, leveraging sales skills and product knowledge to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and compliance records in line with organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial driving or route driving, with a valid driver’s license suitable for the vehicle type.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, heavy lifting safety practices, and automobile transportation standards.
- Strong math skills for pricing calculations, inventory management, and route planning.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team coordination.
- Retail store experience or merchandising background is a plus for understanding product placement and presentation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting techniques.
- Prior experience in military or similar disciplined environments is advantageous for organizational skills and adherence to safety protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products or services effectively while maintaining a focus on customer service excellence.
