We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sedation Dental Assistant to join our team. You can be a current dental assistant, EMT, or anesthesia tech to apply for this position. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing quality anesthesia care to our patients. This job has variable days and hours, as well as varied location as it depends on when/where cases are booked. We travel to the dental office, unload equipment from the vehicle, set up, provide IV sedation services, then break down and load the car back up. Travel time is paid by the hourly rate. The days requested will be asked for at least two weeks in advance so there is ample time to plan ahead. We typically start early in the day but also end early. This job is suitable for someone that wants per diem work with flexible work hours and wants afternoons/evenings free.
Your primary responsibilities will include setting up/breaking down, assisting the dentist anesthesiologist during induction/recovery, taking vital signs, and ensuring a clean and sterile environment. During longer cases, you may be calling patients for pre-operative evaluations and providing anesthesia instructions.
Other duties include:
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage pre-operative calls, follow-ups, and reminders for patients.
- Handle administrative tasks and managing inventory of anesthesia supplies.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment as needed
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications (Preferred, but not required. We are willing to train.)
- Previous experience in a sedation setting
- Knowledge of basic airway management
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Experience in pediatrics is a plus for working with younger patients.
- Familiarity with dental clinic operations and workflows.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Spanish speakers are a plus

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
