Braswell is a leading provider in the construction industry, specializing in grading and paving projects. We are looking for an experienced and dependable Class A Driver to join our team and assist with the transportation of construction materials and heavy equipment to and from our projects.
Job Description: The Class A Driver will be responsible for safely operating a variety of commercial vehicles to support our construction operations. This position will involve hauling construction materials as well as transporting heavy equipment between jobsites. The ideal candidate will have previous construction driving experience and be comfortable operating low-beds, water trucks, bottom dumps, 10-wheelers, and other construction-related trucks and trailers. This position requires someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in and around active construction sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving & Hauling Duties:
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles in support of construction operations.
- Haul heavy equipment using lowbed trailers to and from jobsites.
- Haul dirt, aggregate, asphalt, and other construction materials as needed.
- Operate water trucks, bottom dumps, 10-wheelers, and other company vehicles.
- Properly load, secure, transport, and unload equipment and materials.
- Coordinate with field crews and supervisors regarding equipment and material transportation needs.
- Complete required daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
General Duties:
- Follow all DOT requirements, traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Maintain trucks and equipment in a clean and safe operating condition.
- Work safely around heavy equipment and active construction operations.
- Assist with general construction-related duties as needed when not actively hauling.
- Maintain dependable attendance and flexibility based on project and hauling schedules.
Requirements:
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Clean driving record.
- Previous commercial driving experience required.
- Construction trucking experience preferred.
- Experience operating lowbeds and hauling heavy construction equipment strongly preferred.
- Experience with water trucks, bottom dumps, 10-wheelers, and material hauling preferred.
- Knowledge of proper equipment securement and safe hauling practices.
- Ability to perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in an active construction environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively with field crews and supervisors.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting pay: $27.00 per hour
