Summary/Objective: Midwest Construction Group is seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Finance & Administration Manager to support the company’s continued growth. This role will own financial operations, job cost visibility, payroll/HR administration, and core business infrastructure processes.
The ideal candidate brings construction accounting experience, strong systems discipline, and the ability to grow into a senior financial leadership role as MCG scales.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys building processes, improving systems, and supporting a growing organization.
Essential Functions:

Finance & Accounting
- Oversee job cost accounting and project profitability tracking
- Maintain WIP schedules and revenue recognition tracking
- Manage A/R, A/P, and collections
- Coordinate AIA billing and subcontractor documentation
- Monitor cash flow and provide monthly financial reporting
- Support budget development and forecasting
- Assist in banking relationships and line-of-credit reporting
Construction Accounting
- Monitor project costs and labor reporting
- Track retainage and contract billings
- Review subcontractor compliance documentation
- Assist project managers with financial reporting
- Improve financial visibility into project performance
Payroll & HR Administration
- Administer payroll for all employees
- Coordinate benefits (health, 401k, etc.)
- Manage onboarding and compliance documentation
- Maintain insurance and subcontractor COI tracking
Operational Infrastructure
- Implement and refine accounting and financial systems
- Support software and process improvements
- Maintain vendor records and compliance files
- Develop standardized reporting dashboards
· Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities that may be assigned
Required Education and Experience
- 5–8+ years of construction accounting or financial operations experience
- Strong understanding of job costing and WIP reporting
- Experience with AIA billing and subcontractor management
- Payroll and HR administration familiarity
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a growing, entrepreneurial environment
Preferred:
- Experience supporting a small-to-mid sized GC
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- QuickBooks or construction ERP experience

Pay: $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
