Insurance Coordinator – Dental Practice
Main Line Dental Health & Wellness is looking for a warm, organized, and detail-oriented Insurance Coordinator to join our small private dental practice. We are a slower-paced, patient-focused office that values quality care, strong communication, and a positive team environment.
Unlike high-volume corporate offices, we take pride in creating a calm and personalized experience for both our patients and our team.
We are fully out-of-network with all dental insurance plans and submit claims to PPO policies strictly as a courtesy to patients. This role focuses heavily on accurate claim submission, insurance follow-up, and helping patients understand their benefits and reimbursements.
Responsibilities: Insurance Coordination
- Submit dental insurance claims daily through electronic portals
- Attach all necessary documentation including:
- X-rays
- Clinical notes
- Narratives
- Photos
- Perio charting
- Track outstanding claims in Open Dental
- Follow up with insurance companies regarding claim status and reimbursements
- Work denied or delayed claims in a timely manner
- Post insurance payments and reconcile EOBs accurately
- Maintain detailed claim notes and updates within patient accounts
Patient Financial Communication
- Explain out-of-network insurance benefits to patients in a clear and friendly manner
- Help patients understand estimated reimbursements and claim timelines
- Assist patients with insurance questions while maintaining excellent customer service
- Support a smooth and positive patient experience
Administrative Duties
- Run insurance aging reports and assist in reducing outstanding claims
- Coordinate with the doctor for additional documentation requests
- Maintain organized insurance records and scanned documents
- Support front office operations as needed in a team-oriented environment
Qualifications
- Dental insurance experience preferred
- Familiarity with PPO dental insurance claims and reimbursement processes
- Open Dental experience strongly preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and organization
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Friendly, professional, and dependable personality
- Ability to work independently in a small office setting
