Overview

Duties
- Operate geotechnical drilling machinery such as rotary drills, hollow stem augers, and other heavy equipment with precision and adherence to safety standards
- Conduct site assessments by locating underground utilities using utility locating tools before drilling begins
- Maintain and perform routine inspections on construction machinery including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and tankers to ensure optimal performance
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and company safety protocols during all operations to guarantee a secure work environment
- Assist with the setup of drilling sites, including positioning equipment and preparing materials for efficient workflow
- Support construction activities by operating heavy equipment like Caterpillar machinery (e.g., bulldozers, graders) and performing basic mechanical maintenance when necessary
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks such as horizontal drilling and paving activities while adhering to project timelines
Skills
- Proven experience in construction site operations with a focus on geotechnical or heavy equipment drilling
- Strong knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to operate various heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and horizontal drilling rigs
- Familiarity with utility locating tools and techniques to prevent underground utility damage
- Solid understanding of federal construction safety regulations and general safety regulations applicable on job sites
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving and safe vehicle operation
- Mechanical aptitude for maintaining and troubleshooting construction machinery such as Caterpillar equipment
- Experience working on diverse construction projects involving paving, water management, grading, or excavation tasks
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and site supervisors
