PUSD Classification Salary Range: $32.67 - $41.82 per hour
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $32.67 per hour (step 1) - $37.89 per hour (step 4)
Candidates who pass all of the examination processes are ranked on an eligibility list according to their score(s). Selection for the position will be made from among the top three (3) ranks of candidates. The eligibility list will be used for hiring purposes in other vacancies in the same, or equivalent, job classification and will be active for six (6) months (Merit Rule 50.100.1).
The Current vacancy is 8 hours per day, 12 months per year, located at the Facilities, Maintenance, & Operations (FMO) Department.

BASIC FUNCTION:
Under direction of the Director of Facilities, Maintenance and Operations, perform journey-level skilled electrician work in the planning, installation, maintenance and repair of electrical distribution systems, and equipment and associated components and in the installation, troubleshooting, repair and programming of the digital lighting control system hardware and software. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Oversee, install, test, maintain, and repair and replace a variety of complex electrical equipment and controls such as transformers, clock and lighting circuits, electrical control equipment and controls, conduit and duct systems, motorized bleachers and backboards and other various types of electrical lighting and power equipment. E
Plan, coordinate and lead other trades in the installation of portable classrooms and restrooms throughout the district. E
Design, oversee, and install underground, interior and exterior conduit for electrical distribution systems; data, telecommunications and electronic alarm systems. E
Design, oversee, and install interior and exterior electrical wiring systems. E
Train and familiarize district custodians in the proper selections and ordering of various types and uses of light bulbs. E
Analyze electrical failures problems, isolate troubles and formulate remedies for defective components, including computerized lighting controls the digital lighting controls hardware and software. E
Plan, coordinate and lead other trades in the installation of portable classrooms and restrooms throughout the district. E
Interpret electrical plans and specifications and check for conformity with electrical code, state regulations and safety orders; perform various electrical functions in the construction of facilities; inspect completed work for compliance to applicable codes and standards. E
Oversee the proper operation, testing and repair of the electrical systems for gymnasium bleachers and basketball backboards. E
Troubleshoot a 12,000 volt high voltage system; test and replace high voltage fuses. E
Estimate time and material costs for electrical projects, maintenance and repair. E
Order supplies and maintain related work records; maintain prepare records and prepare reports related to work completed and materials used. E
Perform locating activities of underground electrical cable, telecommunication cables, conduits, water lines and gas lines. E
Train and provide work direction to other assigned staff as needed. E
Perform surveying for proper grading of portable buildings using engineering level transit. E
Operate a trencher, bobcat and other equipment as assigned. E
Coordinate and perform ground rod reading and testing with the District inspectors. E
