Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance abuse issues, facilitating their recovery through various therapeutic techniques. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing individual and group counseling sessions in a clinical setting. The Substance Abuse Counselor will work closely with clients to promote healing and recovery while ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to assess the needs of clients.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on client assessments and goals.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing behavioral therapy techniques.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions to encourage peer support and shared experiences.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies when necessary to ensure client safety.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and clinical notes.
- Educate clients on substance abuse issues, coping strategies, and relapse prevention techniques.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in substance abuse treatment methodologies, including knowledge of ICD-10 coding.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor or equivalent licensure is highly desirable.
- Experience in counseling.
- Proficiency in behavioral therapy practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective client interaction.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in client care.
Compensation Details:
$25 per completed individual session.
$50 per completed group session plus an additional $1 for each client in attendance. Up to $60 per group.
