Insurance Coverage Attorney | Hybrid – New York City | $160,000–$220,000
There comes a point in your career where the next move needs to offer more than just a different firm name on your resume.
Better work. More variety. Genuine progression. And enough flexibility to actually enjoy life outside of it.
If you’re an Insurance Coverage Attorney who has been quietly wondering what else is out there, this opportunity is worth a conversation.
The Opportunity
I’m working with a well-established, mid-sized New York City firm that is continuing to grow its Insurance Coverage practice and is looking for an experienced attorney to join the team.
The practice handles a genuinely varied mix of sophisticated coverage matters, including:
- General Liability
- D&O and E&O
- Employment Practices Liability
- Professional Liability
- Commercial Property & Casualty
So, if you’ve reached the stage where you want to broaden your experience rather than spend the next few years handling variations of the same matters, there is plenty here to keep you challenged.
What Will You Actually Be Doing?
This isn't a role where you'll simply sit behind the scenes researching coverage issues.
You'll have the opportunity to take real ownership of your matters and work closely with clients throughout the process.
That includes analyzing complex coverage and policy issues, drafting key legal documents, advising clients, and representing their interests through litigation, mediation and negotiation.
You’ll also stay close to changes in insurance law and regulation, helping clients understand what those developments actually mean for them in practice.
Who Are They Looking For?
Ideally, you'll have:
- 2–8 years of insurance coverage experience
- Strong experience with policy interpretation and coverage analysis
- Admission in New York and/or New Jersey
- Litigation experience in state and/or federal court
- Strong legal writing, analytical and client-facing skills
- Pennsylvania admission would be useful, but isn't essential
Experience taking matters through trial would certainly stand out.
Why Consider It?
Because sometimes a move isn't about escaping a bad situation.
You might actually be reasonably happy where you are.
But if you're starting to wonder whether another firm could give you better exposure, more interesting work, stronger long-term prospects and a hybrid working environment, it's worth finding out what's available before deciding to stay put.
This is an established firm with a growing Coverage practice, offering $160,000–$220,000 depending on experience, alongside the opportunity to build something long-term rather than simply make another lateral move.
Interested? Send me your resume and I'll be happy to talk you through the firm, the team and what they're looking for.
And if you'd rather talk than apply, call me on 332 777 6411.
I know court appearances, depositions and the small matter of actually billing your hours don't always leave much room in your day.
Even if this particular position isn't quite right, I work with firms across the East Coast and would be happy to have a confidential conversation about what might make your next move worthwhile.
