Our client, a nationally recognized leader in the industrial pump market, is seeking a high-caliber Outside Sales Representative to spearhead their marine and offshore division. Known for top-tier engineering assistance, custom skid fabrication, and a state-of-the-art on-site testing facility, this company provides an exceptional platform for a technical sales professional to thrive.
In this role, you will move beyond transactional selling to build long-term, trust-based partnerships with drilling contractors, marine vessel operators, and industrial service companies across the Central Gulf South.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Regional Growth: Identify and capture new business opportunities within the marine industrial, offshore oil production, and military application sectors.
- Technical Consultation: Size and select centrifugal, diaphragm, gear, and submersible pumps using manufacturer pump curves to answer technical customer RFQs.
- Custom Package Design: Collaborate on custom pump packages and skid system builds (including drive motors), helping to produce comprehensive drawing packages and diagrams.
- Relationship Management: Nurture existing client accounts, delivering precise equipment pricing and ensuring project alignment from bid to delivery.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to keep the organization ahead of industry trends.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 3 years in outside pump sales, with a strong preference for candidates embedded in the marine or offshore industrial sectors.
- Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of pump applications, fluid dynamics, and performance/hydrostatic testing.
- Territory Coverage: Ability to travel independently across the Central Gulf South territory (primarily driving; very limited annual flights required).
- Tools & Systems: Proficient with CRMs, project management platforms, and core productivity software.
