JOB DESCRIPTION: Newberry College invites applications for an Adjunct Professor of Biology beginning in August 2026. Candidates need to have the education and skills to teach general principles of biology. The successful candidate should be able to engage students through personalized pedagogy to be active participants in their learning, help the students build confidence in their intellectual abilities, and develop alternate strategies to help students grasp the material. Position is contingent on available funding.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Teach 1-2 sections of an entry-level Biology course (BIO 101/BIO 121).
- Manage and teach course laboratories.
- Grade and provide feedback to students.
- Maintain student office hours on campus.
EDUCATIONAL OR OTHER HIRING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
A masters (required) or doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in Biology. Candidates who are about to graduate with their degree or have significant teaching experience will also be considered.
