Job Description
The Chemistry Expert 5 will support the Process and Analytical Development team at a viral vector CDMO facility. The role will focus on the execution and development of analytical assays supporting process development activities for innovative viral vector therapeutics.
Responsibilities
- Perform analytical testing using Thermo Vanquish UHPLC, Sciex CE BioPhase 8800, Wyatt SEC-MALS, and FFF-MALS systems.
- Develop analytical methods using the Thermo Vanquish UHPLC system.
- Generate worksheets, summary reports, and analytical method transfer documents.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners to provide technical guidance and project updates.
- Investigate, create, and develop new analytical methods and technologies to achieve technical objectives.
- Independently design, plan, and execute laboratory experiments.
- Independently analyze complex data and interpret experimental results.
- Contribute to and execute technical transfers of analytical methods to and from internal and external partners.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related life science discipline with 7+ years of relevant biopharmaceutical industry experience; OR
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related life science discipline with 5+ years of relevant biopharmaceutical industry experience; OR
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related life science discipline with 3+ years of relevant biopharmaceutical industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and technical expertise in biologics analytical techniques and method development, particularly HPLC and CE.
- Extensive experience with Thermo Vanquish UHPLC and Thermo Chromeleon software.
- Experience with Sciex CE BioPhase 8800 or PA 800 Plus.
- Experience with Wyatt SEC-MALS and FFF-MALS.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Academic or industry experience in virology is preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate scientific findings and technical results.
- Knowledge of quality systems within an FDA-regulated environment.
- Knowledge of ICH quality guidelines.
Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
