Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients through slicing, dicing, and portioning using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to safety standards in production and food handling procedures
- Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients for upcoming dishes and catering events
- Follow food safety management practices, including proper storage, sanitation, and temperature controls
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and efficient food service during busy hours
- Assist in food prep for catering events, special functions, or daily restaurant operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting, particularly as a line cook or prep cook
- Knowledge of dietary department and dietary aide procedures is a plus
- Strong food preparation skills with an emphasis on safety standards in production and food handling
- Demonstrated proficiency in culinary techniques such as slicing, chopping, and cooking methods
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment, knife skills, and slicing techniques required for efficient meal prep
- Experience with food safety management practices and maintaining hygiene standards in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high-pressure setting while maintaining attention to detail
