Roza Irrigation District is accepting resumes for an Engineering Technician I. This entry-level position reports to the Engineering Manager and supports a variety of engineering, GIS, surveying, mapping, construction inspection, and District operations activities.

Essential Functions:
· Assist the Engineering Manager with project design and coordination, including pipeline design, routing, and surveying.
· Update District maps and databases for parcel segregation and ownership changes.
· Perform facility locates.
· Review land divisions for compliance with District policies and requirements.
· Perform construction inspections.
· Provide digital data to customers through approved digital media or file-transfer methods.
· Create GIS products, including maps.
· Operate computer graphics input/output equipment as needed.
· Working knowledge of CAD systems.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience: Minimum qualifications include an Associate degree in Engineering and at least one year of experience in a high customer-contact business or government setting. Equivalent combinations of training, education, and experience that demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The successful candidate must be able to work effectively as part of a team, support adopted organizational goals and schedules, and communicate clearly with water users, employees, the public, and representatives of other agencies. The position requires the ability to read and interpret maps, aerial photographs, legal descriptions, and procedures; use standard and specialized software; maintain accurate records; and operate GPS, ground penetrating radar, and surveying equipment in the field.
