Maintenance Technician - Kansas City, MO
KC Hide Inc. has an immediate opening for a Maintenance tech to assist in routine maintenance at its Kansas City Facility.
Responsibilities:
The primary goals of this position will be to maximize plant efficiencies, reduce maintenance costs and minimize downtime.
Day Shift Required (7 am to 3:30 pm); some Saturdays and second shift coverage as needed by the company.
- Perform routine maintenance on the production equipment and facilities.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
- Repair broken equipment in a timely manner.
- Apply preventative measures to reduce the risk of future equipment and facilities failure.
- Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
- Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and reporting to the Maintenance or Plan Manager for the ordering of new supplies.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations set forth by the Company and its Safety Department.
Qualifications:
- Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment
- In-depth knowledge of system maintenance
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, and pulling
- Stong attention to detail
- Robust mechanical skills
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations
- Skilled in analyzing information and creating reports
- Electrical knowledge
- General construction and plumbing knowledge
- Mobile equipment repair and service experience a plus
- Welding and fabrication skills a plus
- Hydraulic troubleshooting and repair a plus
- Ability to think outside the box

- Teamwork and Collaboration skills
Experience and Education:
- 1 to 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance
- Associates Degree or higher, or recognized certifications in mechanical engineering a plus
