Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our asphalt and concrete construction team. This position is primarily focused on equipment operation, but the right candidate should also be willing to assist the crew with limited labor support when needed.
Our work includes asphalt prep, concrete demo and replacement, excavation, grading, utility patch restoration, base prep, material handling, and general sitework. We are looking for someone dependable, safe, and team-oriented who can help keep projects moving efficiently.
Duties
- Operate equipment such as excavators, mini excavators, skid steers, loaders, backhoes, compactors, and other construction equipment.
- Assist with asphalt and concrete demo, excavation, grading, and base preparation.
- Load, move, and stage materials, spoils, gravel, asphalt, concrete, and debris as needed.
- Perform limited labor support when needed, such as shoveling, raking, sweeping, compacting, cleanup, jobsite setup, and helping the crew stay productive.
- Work around sidewalks, curbs, ADA ramps, parking lots, utilities, and active construction areas.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs.
- Follow safety procedures and communicate clearly with crew members and supervisors.
- Help keep trucks, equipment, tools, and jobsites clean and organized.
- Support crews with materials, equipment positioning, and jobsite preparation when needed.
Qualifications
- Experience operating construction equipment such as excavators, skid steers, loaders, backhoes, and compactors.
- Experience with asphalt, concrete, excavation, grading, or sitework preferred.
- Ability to assist with limited labor support when needed.
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety and working around utilities.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- CDL preferred but not required.
- Ability to work well with a crew and take direction.
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance.
- Mechanical knowledge and basic equipment maintenance experience preferred.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, operates safely, shows up reliably, and is willing to help the crew when needed. This is primarily an operator position with limited hands-on labor support.
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
