Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, social-emotional skills, and overall childhood development.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a positive environment and encouraging appropriate behavior through effective behavior management strategies.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that stimulate curiosity, creativity, and social interaction, including toddler care and Montessori-based methods.
- Help tailor instruction to meet individual needs by supporting the development of IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) for children with disabilities or special education requirements.
- Foster communication skills through activities involving American Sign Language (ASL), verbal interaction, and other expressive techniques.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed during daily routines and activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, curriculum development, and assessment strategies to enhance educational outcomes.
Qualifications
- Prior classroom experience in early childhood education or preschool settings is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Experience working with children with developmental disabilities or autism is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with special education practices, including IEP implementation and adaptations for students with disabilities.
- Proficiency in teaching literacy education, math concepts, and curriculum planning tailored for young learners.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and specialists; strong communication skills are essential.
- Certification or training in early childhood education or childcare is desirable; Montessori or preschool experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) or willingness to learn is beneficial.
