Overview
Local delivery driver needed for cardboard box manufacturing plant. When you are not delivering items on the truck you will be expected to help in production. Expectation for this position will include manual, general labor in a warehouse setting.
Duties
- Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and other commercial vehicles, to complete local deliveries.
- Load and unload goods efficiently using equipment such as pallet jacks, ensuring items are handled with care.
- Plan and follow optimized delivery routes to maximize efficiency and meet delivery schedules.
- Interact professionally with customers upon delivery, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met; perform basic maintenance checks as needed.
- Accurately document delivery details, obtain signatures when required, and complete all necessary logs and reports.
- Assist with warehouse tasks when not on route, including stock movement and inventory management.
- Feed corrugated sheets, blanks, and materials into various machines including corrugators, flexo folder gluers, die cutters, slitters, and printers
Candidates must be able to:
- Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing over 50 lbs
- Perform repetitive bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, and kneeling motions
- Work in a non-climate-controlled environment (hot in summer, cold in winter)
- Have no physical disabilities or restrictions that would prevent performing strenuous manual labor
- Wear steel-toe boots and other required PPE at all times
- Manually load and unload raw materials and finished corrugated products
- Stack, bundle, strap, and palletize finished boxes and packaging materials according to customer specifications
- Perform quality checks on materials and finished products, identifying and removing defective items
- Assist machine operators with setup, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting
- Transport materials throughout the plant using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other manual equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping, removing waste, and performing general housekeeping duties
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe material handling techniques
- Perform basic math calculations for counts, measurements, and simple production reporting
- Work with team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines
- Assist in other areas of the plant as needed during downtime or high production periods
- Report any machine issues, safety hazards, or quality concerns to supervisors immediately
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Help with inventory counts and material organization in warehouse and production areas
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with box trucks or similar commercial vehicles.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting or moving goods.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is advantageous.
- Prior experience in route driving, load & unload operations, or warehouse work is preferred.

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
