Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has an opportunity for a School Nurse to join a dynamic team of nurses supporting students at Westford School, beginning in the 2026/2027 school year. The school nurse collaborates with teachers and administrators to integrate health and wellness knowledge and skills across the school, drawing on their experience in pediatric, community health, emergency, adult, and mental health nursing.
This is a temporary, one-year position with the opportunity to apply for renewal, based on district needs. This position is covered under the teacher collective bargaining agreement and includes a comprehensive benefits package with medical, dental, life, and long-term disability insurance, paid sick, family, and personal leave, access to professional development funds, and a work schedule that follows the teacher school calendar.
EWSD is committed to considering out-of-state candidates who are eligible to hold a Vermont educator license but do not yet hold a license in this state.

Candidates with the following additional qualifications are encouraged to apply:

Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of relevant nursing experience.

Hold a valid license as a Professional Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Vermont.

Hold (or be eligible to hold) a valid Vermont Educator’s License with a 3-65 school nurse endorsement.

Experience with supporting students across broad aspects of the school's system of support.

Experience working with high school students preferred.

Knowledge of general nursing and school nursing concepts and skills

Effectively works with others, including those with opinions or beliefs different from their own.
