Seattle Counseling Center is hiring a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) to join our small, relationally oriented private practice in Queen Anne.
This is a W-2 employee position for a clinician who wants the experience of private practice without having to build a practice from scratch. We provide practice-generated referrals, office space, an EHR and billing infrastructure, weekly individual supervision, and employee benefits so you can focus on doing good clinical work.
We primarily work with adults and are looking for someone who is thoughtful, curious, relationally oriented, and genuinely interested in developing as a psychotherapist.
This may be a good fit if:
- You enjoy working with adults and have experience providing psychotherapy to adult clients.
- You’re relationally oriented and interested in the here-and-now, therapeutic process, transference, countertransference, and relational dynamics.
- You believe people have the capacity for change.
- You approach clinical work with curiosity, openness, and humility.
- You can receive feedback without becoming defensive and are willing to examine your own work.
- You’re comfortable taking responsibility for your schedule, documentation, communication, and professional obligations.
- You’ve considered private practice but don't want to be responsible for finding your own clients, managing a practice, or figuring out the business side on your own.
- You’re able to work from our Queen Anne office and maintain a consistent schedule.
- You’re comfortable working in a growing practice where change is inevitable.
What you’ll do:
- Maintain a caseload of approximately 20 weekly clients with 25 available clinical hours in our Queen Anne office.
- Provide thoughtful, ethical psychotherapy in person and via secure video.
- Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans using the DSM-5-TR.
- Use evidence-informed treatments that support each client’s goals.
- Develop clinical formulations that consider clients’ histories, relationships, patterns, and circumstances.
- Help clients develop insight into their experiences, emotions, relationships, and patterns of behavior.
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment as clinically appropriate.
- Complete timely, accurate, and clinically meaningful documentation.
- Come to weekly supervision ready to think deeply about your clients, clinical challenges, and areas of uncertainty.
- Participate actively in staff meetings and contribute to the practice.
- Communicate directly and professionally with clients, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Respond appropriately to clinical emergencies and other time-sensitive situations.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and follow SCC policies.
- Take responsibility for your work and approach mistakes and challenges with openness, accountability, and a willingness to repair.
- Continue developing your clinical knowledge through supervision, education, and self-reflection.
What you’ll get:
- W-2 employment with transparent hourly compensation
- $46–55/hour for every hour worked with transparent pay schedule
- Weekly individual clinical supervision with a Washington State Approved Supervisor
- 50% of monthly premiums for a Regence Gold health insurance plan
- 401(k) matching
- PTO, including sick and vacation time
- CE stipend
- Practice-generated referrals
- Private office space in Queen Anne
- EHR, scheduling, billing, and other practice infrastructure
- No upfront costs to access clients or practice infrastructure
