- Expoing/running sandwiches, sides, and drinks
- Helping the prep person
- Putting together sides and prepping allergy sandwiches to help grills out
- Doing dishes
- Bussing/wiping down tables
- Restocking dry goods and other service-related items throughout the shift.
- Batching lemonade or squeezing lemons
- Communicate regularly with your shift lead to determine what would be the most helpful thing you could be doing. If you’re ever unsure of what to do, ask.
- Check the quality of food and beverages before they go out, only serving the best quality items.
- Use recipes from the Recipe Master Doc on your iPad to prepare all food, using the correct ingredients and measurements.
- Engage with guests in our space. Smile, spark conversations, make eye contact, speak with enthusiasm, and be present. Make our guests feel welcomed and at home.
Qualifications
Because this is a seasonal role, we are specifically looking for someone to help us through peak foliage season. This means we can not offer year round work right now. It is important that if you want to pursue this opportunity you understand that we are in need September-October.
This does however mean you will be trained and able to pick up shifts any of our year round staff give up or work during peak seasons such as Thanksgiving break, Christmas Break, February school vacation week, April school vacation week or even next summer if you wish.
To be successful in this seasonal role, we are looking for an ideal team player.
Characteristics of Exceptional Team Players
- Passionate: A passionate team player brings enthusiasm and dedication to their work. They are intrinsically motivated, diligent, and have a strong desire to do more by going above and beyond. Passionate team players inspire those around them to get excited about the work they are doing. They are moved by their passion to act and have a history of achievement. Passionate team members do not have to be pushed by their managers to perform; they are constantly looking for more responsibility, and thinking about the next step and the next opportunity for them and their team.
- Empathetic: An empathic team player seeks to understand the people on their team and then act in a way that positively impacts them. Empathetic team players actively listen, allow others to express themselves, and are perceptive of what is happening in the world around them. They can “read the room” and adjust their communication to achieve their intended outcome.
- Humble: A humble team player is quick to share credit for successes and take responsibility for mistakes. They do not care about titles or status and do not allow their ego to dictate their actions. They are more concerned about achieving the goals of the team than their own goals and do not spend much time talking about themselves. Humble team players are confident in who they are and do not need to brag or seek validation.
If you believe the timing of this opportunity works for you and you have these traits, we can train you to make amazing grilled cheese and deliver exceptional hospitality.
