Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with attention to quality, presentation, and flavor, ensuring consistency across all meals
- Assist in menu planning by developing new recipes and adapting existing ones to meet dietary needs and preferences
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures in compliance with health regulations
- Collaborate with dietary aides and other kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and delivery efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards
- Serve meals with professionalism, ensuring timely delivery and excellent customer service
Experience
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Demonstrated culinary experience in fine dining or restaurant settings, showcasing advanced cooking skills
- Strong background in food preparation, food handling, and kitchen operations within the food industry
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and food safety protocols is essential
- Skilled in using knives and other kitchen tools with precision and safety
- Experience in catering services or large-scale food service environments is a plus
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and accommodating special dietary needs is advantageous
