We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our supply chain operations team. Responsibilities
- Oversee warehouse distribution activities, including inventory control, stocking, and materials handling to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
- Manage transportation planning and logistics management using systems such as Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and ERP platforms like SAP or AS400.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors through sourcing, procurement experience, and vendor management to optimize purchasing strategies and negotiate contracts.
- Utilize data analysis skills with tools like Tableau, Excel data analysis, SQL, and spreadsheets to monitor supply chain performance metrics and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Conduct root cause analysis for supply chain disruptions or inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production planning, demand planning, customer service, and warehouse operations teams to streamline processes.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and trade compliance standards for import/export activities.
- Support freight management including shipping & receiving, freight cost analysis, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) coordination, and dispatching.
- Maintain accurate records within inventory management systems and warehouse management systems (WMS), ensuring data integrity for inventory management and demand planning.
- Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing warehouse operations, materials handling procedures, and overall logistics efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience practicing in a supply chain operations role with a strong understanding of logistics management principles.
- Demonstrated proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management systems, ERP platforms such as SAP or AS400, and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Strong data collection and analysis skills using Excel (including Excel data analysis), SQL, Tableau or other visualization tools to support decision-making.
- Hands-on experience with warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, freight logistics, procurement sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
- Familiarity with international trade regulations, trade compliance standards, and customs procedures is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience working with materials handling equipment such as forklifts is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration across departments including customer service teams.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets for root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives that enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Knowledge of transporting hazardous goods preferred.
