Leading manufacturer of complex orthopedic instruments is seeking CNC machinists for Swiss lathes in our clean, well-lit and air conditioned modern machine shop. First shift hours are Monday through Thursday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm; Friday 6:00 am to 3:30 pm. Second shift hours are Monday through Thursday 4:30 p.m.- 3:00 a.m. Plenty of opportunity for overtime on both shifts. There is a 10% premium for night shift. Pay is commensurate with experience.
Qualifications/skills: Two to three years machining experience is preferred with competency in the use of precision measuring equipment; ability to read, understand and interpret blue prints; competency in shop math; ability to understand and apply SPC and GD&T a plus. Starr Swiss experience a plus.
Job Duties: Set-up and operation of CNC machines. Perform complex, first-run set ups; select proper tools, equipment and materials; use all precision measuring equipment to perform in-process and final dimensional checks; select and use correct tooling, fixtures and gauges for set-up.
