Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic electrical team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across industrial and commercial settings. Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial and commercial electrical systems in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards and local electrical codes.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to accurately execute electrical work.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely while adhering to all electrical safety procedures.
- Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot complex electrical systems efficiently.
- Install and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial automation processes.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA 70 and NEC standards for safety and performance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment effectively during installation and maintenance activities.
- Read blueprints and schematics to plan wiring layouts for new installations or renovations on construction sites.
- Collaborate with project teams during construction or renovation projects to ensure timely completion of electrical tasks.
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including inspections, repairs, and system upgrades.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage wiring, low-voltage systems, and industrial electrical components.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and local electrical codes is essential.
- Skilled in troubleshooting electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Experience working on construction sites, renovations, or industrial facilities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, and electrical blueprint interpretation is preferred.
- Ability to work safely following all electrical safety procedures while handling power tools and hand tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly and accurately in complex systems.
