Responsibilities
- Administer intravenous (IV) infusions, medications, and therapies with precision and adherence to established protocols.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments prior to treatment, including vital signs, medical history review, and physiological evaluations.
- Monitor patient responses during infusion procedures, promptly identifying and managing adverse reactions or complications.
- Educate patients and their families about infusion procedures, medication side effects, and post-treatment care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Follow strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure sterile procedures during all infusions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, pharmacists, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans.
Requirements
- Valid registered nurse (RN) license in good standing with relevant state nursing board.
- Proven experience in infusion therapy, including IV insertion, medication administration, and catheter care.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation and order entry.
- Knowledge of pharmacology related to infusion medications and IV solutions.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to infusion practices.
