Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative team focused on delivering high-quality dental services, including pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures. The successful applicant will utilize their expertise in dental terminology, infection control, and patient assessment to support optimal oral health outcomes. Prior experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical records management.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and polishing procedures to promote oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review.
- Take and develop medical imaging as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed using aseptic techniques.
- Review medical records and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and exceptional patient care.
Requirements
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in general dentistry, dental office settings, or dental clinics.
- Eaglesoft
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and chairside assisting effectively.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical coding for documentation review.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward diverse patient populations, including pediatrics.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation standards.
- Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. This position is integral to providing outstanding dental care while supporting the health and safety of our patients through meticulous clinical practices and effective communication skills.
