Job Purpose
Excellerated Teaching Academy is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to provide individualized and group instruction to students diagnosed with a variety of developmental and behavioral needs. Working in partnership with students, parents, and therapy professionals, you will directly support our mission to make a lasting educational, societal, and social impact on every student’s life.
Job Requirements
- Background Check: Must pass a Level 2 background check (Required).
- Medical Comfort: Comfort supporting students with epilepsy (Required).
- Environment: Comfort in the presence of religious activities and communication (Required).
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of successful experience (Preferred).
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesClassroom & Instructional Support
- Facilitate a structured learning environment tailored to the unique needs of present learners.
- Assist the lead teacher in preparing and providing educational resources.
- Support student comprehension of subject matter and provide meaningful feedback to both students and teachers.
- Adapt the classroom environment to encourage learning and promote student independence.
- Assist school personnel with student progress monitoring.
Supervision & Student Care
- Monitor students during high-transition arrival and dismissal times.
- Supervise students during lunch periods and specialty classes (Music, Art, and PE) as needed.
- Assist teachers with meeting students' individual self-care needs.
- Perform other related duties as directed by administration.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate professionally and effectively with all stakeholders, including Case Managers, Co-Teachers, Support Staff, Administrators, Parents, and Caregivers.
- Actively participate in weekly team meetings to discuss student needs, organizational goals, and team dynamics.
- Maintain prompt communication by acknowledging emails and voicemails within 24 hours (excluding weekends and holidays).
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships across the school community.

- Physical Agility: Ability to stand for extended periods, sit in standard chairs or on the floor, stoop/kneel at a child's eye level, and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Communication: Capable of writing, reading, speaking, hearing, and understanding fluent English.
- Environmental Tolerance: Comfortable with high daily schedule variability and a frequently high noise level due to classroom dynamics and student behaviors.
