Role Description:
We are seeking a full-time Quality Inspector to join our team on-site in Lockport, NY. The responsibilities of this role include performing quality control checks on precision machined parts to ensure compliance with company standards and strict customer blueprints. The role also involves evaluating materials like brass, aluminum, and steel directly on the floor, identifying product defects, and isolating non-conforming materials before shipping. Additional duties include working alongside machine operators to ensure smooth production flow and strict compliance with safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Blueprint Reading, with the ability to interpret exact dimensions and geometric tolerances for complex metal parts.
- Strong skills in Quality Control, with the ability to inspect and ensure compliance with strict production standards using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Experience in Precision Machining environments, specifically checking parts produced by CNC lathes and multi-spindle screw machines.
- Familiarity with metal handling, including the specific physical properties and surface inspection required for brass, aluminum, and steel.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to detect minor defects or tool wear on high-volume production lines.
- Problem-solving skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe, organized manufacturing floor.
- Technical training in quality control or prior experience in a similar machining environment is highly preferred.
