About the Role
PackYak Fulfillment is hiring a Fulfillment Specialist I to support fast, accurate order fulfillment for our clients. This is an entry level, hands-on warehouse role focused on picking and packing orders efficiently and correctly, while also jumping in on general warehouse needs like cleaning, kitting projects, unloading trucks, and handling materials. If you’re detail-oriented, move with purpose, and take pride in doing things the right way, you’ll do well here. This role requires availability to work at least two Saturday shifts that are fulfillment only and run from 8am-12pm. Preference will be given to candidates willing to cover additional Saturday shifts.
Schedule Requirements
- This is a full-time role with typical shifts running M-F from 8am-4:30pm.
- Must be available to work at least two Saturday shifts per month, 8:00am–12:00pm, supporting fulfillment-only operations (picking/packing/shipping).
- On weeks you are working Saturday, the opportunity to take a weekday off will be provided or you will be allowed to clock overtime for working M-Sa.
Key Responsibilities
Order Fulfillment
- Pick customer orders accurately using the WMS and handheld scanners (correct SKU, quantity, and lot/serial when applicable).
- Pack orders to PackYak standards: correct items, secure packaging, correct dunnage, and clean presentation.
- Verify order contents before sealing to reduce mis-ships and short-ships.
- Apply shipping labels, confirm scans, and stage completed orders in the correct outbound area for the correct carrier pickup.
- Follow SOPs for special handling items (fragile, oversized, hazmat/regulated if applicable).
Accuracy, Quality & Speed
- Maintain high pick/pack accuracy while meeting daily throughput expectations.
- Report inventory or product issues (damage, low stock, barcode problems, location mismatches) immediately to Quality Assurance or Inventory Control.
- Keep work areas organized to support efficient operations and error reduction.
General Warehouse Support
- Assist with unloading trucks and staging inbound/outbound shipments safely (pallets, cartons, parcels) as required.
- Support kitting/assembly projects, relabeling, and repack work according to client requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of aisles, packing stations, staging areas, and docks (sweep, trash, breakdown cardboard, etc.).
Safety & Teamwork
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and equipment checks.
- Communicate clearly with leads/managers and collaborate with teammates to hit daily shipping goals.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year experience in a warehouse or fulfillment center environment (or equivalent).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes and scanning workflows.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills and comfort learning WMS tools quickly.
- Reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fulfillment center experience (e-commerce preferred).
- Experience with WMS platforms (e.g., ShipHero or similar).
- Familiarity with pick/pack best practices and packaging standards.
- Forklift certification (or willingness to be trained).

- High pick/pack accuracy (low mis-ship and short-ship rates).
- Consistent productivity and pace aligned with daily shipping cutoffs.
- Clean, organized workstations and staging areas.
- Willingness to flex to other warehouse needs (kitting, cleaning, unloading) to keep operations moving.
- Strong teamwork and dependable and timely attendance for scheduled shifts.
