Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items with precision, including techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food production.
- Follow food safety and sanitizing procedures diligently to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient preparation to support the culinary team’s daily operations.
- Handle food safely during all stages of food handling, from prep to service, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Support high-volume production needs during busy service hours while maintaining attention to detail.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and excellent food service standards.
- Maintain proper knife skills and food presentation techniques to enhance dish quality.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting, preferably with fine dining experience or high-volume production background.
- Strong knowledge of food safety management, sanitizing procedures, and proper food handling practices.
- Demonstrated skills in various cooking methods such as grilling, braising, poaching, and general food preparation.
- Experience with dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus, along with menu planning capabilities.
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with culinary techniques like food production and meal preparation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Prior catering or serving experience is advantageous but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
