· We are hiring Independent Living Skills Instructors (ILS) to help high functioning Regional Center clients learn life skills in Contra Costa and Alameda counties. We assist with skills like money management, self advocacy, medical and dental health, communications skills, home management, stress management, healthy eating and cooking , community building and social well being.
·ILS Instructors have positive impact on the lives of people with developmental disabilities. From maintaining housing to applying for Social Security benefits and other skills necessary to live successfully in their communities.
· For thirteen years, Transition To Independence has been helping people live successfully in their communities. We are adding staff to meet the growing need for services. These positions require traveling to clients homes in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties.
- Work with clients on a one to one basis.
- Work in a rewarding growth field.
- Learn how to write and implement Individual Support Plans.
- Help people navigate the changing landscape of available services.
- Partner with Individual's circle of support including family and Regional Center staff.
- Full training is provided.
· Must own your own vehicle and have current proof of insurance and a valid Driver License. and pass DOJ Livescan
Required Education, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, psychology, Social Work (MSW) or a related field OR 4 years of experience working with Adults with developmental disabilities or in a related field.
