THE ROLE
This hybrid position (4 days in office) is responsible for providing financial and analytical support to the Operations and Supply Chain functions. The Manufacturing Financial Analyst will play an integral role in margin optimization, the month-end close process, and performance reporting. Working in close partnership with Manufacturing Operations and Supply Chain leadership, this highly visible role will deliver timely analysis that identifies trends, risks, and opportunities, while supporting sound inventory and cost management strategy. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Month-End Close & Cost Management
- Own and execute monthly labor reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution to Operations management
- Prepare expense and volume-adjusted variance analysis versus plan and prior year, with clear narrative commentary that isolates volume impact from true cost variances
Freight, Logistics & Inventory
- Analyze domestic trucking expense versus plan and prior year, identify key drivers, and partner with Supply Chain on freight-efficiency opportunities
- Track landed material costs — freight, duty, and other import-related charges — to ensure accurate product costing
- Prepare inventory reporting and KPIs, and partner with operations and planning to align inventory with demand and optimize working capital
Reporting, Analysis & Business Partnership
- Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports and KPIs for Operations and Supply Chain management
- Analyze results versus plan and prior year to surface trends, risks, and margin and profitability opportunities, translating findings into actionable insights for non-finance audiences
- Build and enhance recurring dashboards and automate manual reporting using Power BI and AI
- Complete ad-hoc analyses and special projects as needed across Finance and Operations. The above responsibilities may change, and other tasks, deliverables and/or responsibilities may be added to the above as per business need as determined by Finance management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar
- 2-4 years’ experience in corporate finance (accounting or FP&A) or manufacturing operations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into clear narratives for non-finance audiences
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data modeling
- Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools preferred (Power BI)
- Ability to work within ERP systems; familiarity with inventory and cost modules a plus
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with strong initiative and a proactive approach to problem solving
- Highly adaptable to shifting priorities; comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving processes
- Ability to commute to Lawrence, MA facility 4-5 days per week
