Craft Careers, Build Legacy.
If you've worked a trade — siding, roofing, windows and doors, or decking — and you're ready for that skill to show up in your paycheck, Bontrager Exteriors wants to talk to you. We work year-round through the Wisconsin winter, and we're hiring across our 10 crews in 4 divisions right now — tell us your trade and we'll find where you fit.
What Makes This Role Different
- Work year-round. Our crews stay busy through the Wisconsin winter — this isn't seasonal work with layoffs when it snows.
- You tell us your trade, we put you on the right crew. One application gets you considered for Siding, Roofing, Windows & Doors, or Decking — whichever matches your background.
- Real crew leader path. We run a full training and certification program built specifically to move experienced installers into Crew Leader roles — company truck included once you're there.
- You're joining an established operation, not a startup crew. We're hiring because we're growing, not backfilling.
- Pay grows with proof, not tenure. Starting rate is set by what you can already do, with pay reaching up to $50/hr as you gain seniority and step into Team Lead or Crew Leader. Leadership roles also add performance incentives and commission on every job completed.
- Every day starts at our shop. Report to our production facility in Bonduel — no driving to a random job site solo, no guessing what today's job is.
What You'll Actually Do
The work changes by crew, but the standard doesn't — clean, square, and done right the first time.
Siding: Install vinyl or metal siding — panels, corners, trim, tear-out when needed.
Roofing: Skilled work on the roof installing metal roofing systems. Tear-offs and shingle roofs are subcontracted out, so this crew stays focused on metal.
Windows & Doors: Remove old units, set and square new ones, air-seal and trim.
Decking: Frame and build decks that hold up to Wisconsin weather.
Every crew works with power tools daily and handles heavy material.
Who Thrives Here
- Installers with hands-on siding, roofing, or exterior carpentry experience — vinyl, metal, or otherwise (preferred, not required)
- Tradespeople who've worked ladders, lifts, or roofs and take safety seriously as part of doing the job right
- People who take pride in a clean finish and can tell when something's not sitting right, even if it "passes"
- Anyone who's been doing solid work for someone else's company and wants that effort to finally show up in their check
- Techs who want a real shot at Team Lead or Crew Leader — where you start earning commission on every job you complete, on top of hourly pay — or techs who'd rather stay hands-on and just get paid well for being excellent at it. Both are welcome here.
What We Require
- Comfortable on ladders, scaffolding, lifts, or roofs with proper safety measures
- Working knowledge of hand and power tools, including accurate measuring
- Ability to handle strenuous physical work and heavy materials
- Willingness to work in a tobacco, drug, and alcohol-free workplace
Not the Right Fit If
- You want to stay behind a desk — this is a field, hands-on-tools role every day
- You're looking for a slow, steady pace — our crews move fast and get it done
- You want to clock in and coast — this crew rewards people who actually want to learn the trade
