We have an immediate need for an Associate Attorney at a leading law firm conveniently located in Long Island. This is a full-time direct hire opportunity that offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload from inception thru resolution.
Requirements Include:
- 3-7 years of experience, preferably in defense litigation.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- NY bar license, active and in good standing, required.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven track record of success in courtroom appearances, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
- Demonstrated interest in defense litigation.
- Clerkship experience, a plus.
- Experience in 3rd-party insurance coverage is a plus.
- Draft pleadings, answer written discovery, take depositions, and participate in arbitrations and trials.
- Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to develop sound case strategies.
- Communicate with clients, the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.
- Provide regular and timely updates to clients on case status, strategy, and potential outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with partners, associates, and legal staff.
- Manage cases while adhering to billing and budget requirements.
- Ability to travel for court, client meetings, etc
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
