The Fordy Group are pleased to announce that they are partnered with a top civil GC who are actively looking for talented Assistant Project Managers, Project Managers and Senior Project Managers for their utilities division.
Project Manager:
The Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering utility construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This role ensures projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with company standards for quality and client satisfaction.
Working within a heavy civil construction environment, the Project Manager oversees all underground utility installations - including water, sewer, pipeline and storm systems while coordinating across internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
We would like to place emphasis on early planning, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of utility construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and closeout
- Coordinate installation of underground utilities such as water mains, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with overall site development timelines
- Identify risks early and implement solutions before construction begins
Team Leadership & Coordination:
- Lead project teams including field staff, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and preconstruction teams to resolve issues proactively
- Foster a team-oriented, relationship-driven work environment
Safety & Quality Assurance:
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with all regulations
- Promote a strong safety culture through training and leadership
- Ensure quality workmanship and adherence to specifications
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in heavy civil or utility construction project management
- Strong knowledge of underground utility systems and site development
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, and subcontractors
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with design-build or turnkey construction projects
- Familiarity with trenchless technology, excavation, and grading operations
- Proficiency in construction management software
Work Environment
- Combination of office and active construction site environments
- Frequent travel to project sites
- Exposure to outdoor conditions and heavy equipment operations
