Little Stars Childcare 2 is seeking a full-time/part-time Pre-K / School-Age Teacher who is responsible for creating and delivering engaging educational activities to students in the Pre-K and school-age programs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, and promoting the intellectual and social development of students. The teacher will plan, implement, and assess lessons while also collaborating with colleagues, parents, and the community to support the daycare's educational objectives.
As a Teacher, you will be responsible for:
- Curriculum Development: Create lesson plans and activities that align with the developmental needs of Pre-K and school-age children.
- Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a safe and organized classroom environment. Assist Pre-K children with potty training as needed. Manage behavior and promote positive interactions among children.
- Assessment: Monitor and assess the progress of each child, providing feedback to parents and adapting teaching strategies as needed.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians. Share information about a child's day, progress, and any concerns.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the overall well-being of the children. Complete extensive training that provides insight into child care and development topics.
- Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, following established protocols and procedures. Follow all licensing guidelines and company standards to ensure the daily care of every child.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Pre-K / School-Age Teacher position will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, a high school diploma, or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
- 3 years of experience working with Pre-K and/or school-age children in a childcare or educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
- Knowledge of child development and best practices in early childhood education.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for working with young children and school-age children, and a commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education.
- Ability to drive a childcare van.
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
