The Terminal Operator – is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of terminal and marine facilities. This role supports the receipt, storage, and distribution of petroleum-based products while maintaining strict adherence to safety, environmental, and operational standards. The Terminal Operator plays a key role in delivering reliable, high-quality service to our customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Facilitating receipt and distribution of product into storage via truck, and vessel, following all product movement, measurement, and quality control procedures.
- Appropriate documentation and basic math calculations will be required.
- Interact with contract and customer carriers to coordinate accurate delivery of products via truck, or vessel.
- Maintenance and repair of terminal equipment and facility grounds to meet or exceed company standards.
- Adherence to regulatory measures, safety directives, and operating procedures, including Coast Guard, local, state, and federal agencies as applicable to terminal operations.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Related experience in terminal, truck or marine operations preferred
- Waterfront Petroleum is subject to the port security regulations set forth by the Transportation Security Administration and United States Coast Guard. Position Schedule
- This position supports 12-hour shift operations, including 12:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 12:00 PM – 12:00 AM, based on operational needs
- May require day, evening, overnight, weekend, and/or rotating shifts
- Schedules are determined by management and may change to support terminal operations and customer demands
- Flexibility to work varying schedules is essential
Other Skills, Attributes, and Abilities:
- General knowledge of equipment and maintenance of pumps, meters, truck loading rack, and dock facility preferred.
- General knowledge or experience in the petroleum industry is helpful.
- Inventory control and/or accounting background a plus.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills are also required.
- This position requires someone who can work well under pressure and has a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
- Position may require exposure to adverse weather conditions, and hazardous environments and require the physical stamina to climb tanks, work long hours in the field, and wear a respirator.
