PROJECT OVERVIEW
Founded in 2024, Feels Like Home Festival is an annual Texas music and barbecue festival held in the heart of Brownwood. The event was created as both a destination festival and a celebration of Brownwood's community, hospitality, and revitalized downtown. The festival brings together residents and visitors for a full day of national and regional entertainment, authentic Texas BBQ, beverages, vendors, sponsor activations, and premium guest experiences.
The 2026 festival takes place Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Brownwood Event Center Complex. The announced entertainment lineup includes Gary Allan, Scotty McCreery, Mark Chesnutt, Jack Ingram, and Caroline Hale.
FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE
The festival footprint consists of multiple operational and guest experience areas that may include:
- Main concert stage and production compound
- BBQ pit and tasting areas
- Dedicated BBQ entertainment/stage area
- General Admission viewing areas
- VIP viewing and hospitality areas
- Platinum indoor hospitality lounge
- Reserved cabanas and premium experiences
- Bars and beverage service locations
- Food and merchandise vendors
- Sponsor and brand activation areas
- Guest entrances, credentialing and ticket scanning
- Backstage and artist hospitality
- Portable restrooms and sanitation areas
- Parking, shuttle and transportation operations
- Emergency, security and medical access routes
For 2026, the festival has expanded the guest experience with additional space, improved sightlines, Platinum Lounge access, reserved cabanas, and a dedicated daytime BBQ stage.
EVENT OPERATIONS & LABOR
Site Operations personnel will support the build, event operation, and breakdown of the festival. Work may include unloading and distributing equipment; installing barricades, fencing, tables, chairs, signage, tents and site infrastructure; maintaining operational areas during the event; supporting production departments; general site cleanup; and dismantling and loading equipment following the festival.
Festival admission begins at 12:00 PM, with programming continuing throughout the day and evening. VIP and other premium experiences include BBQ tasting from Noon–4:00 PM, dedicated viewing areas and hospitality amenities.
Labor schedules will include pre-event setup, event-day operations, and post-event strike/load-out. Specific crew call times, shift assignments, supervisors, parking instructions and check-in locations will be provided through the final production schedule.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is an active outdoor festival production environment. Staff should expect extended periods of standing and walking, physical labor, moving equipment, changing weather conditions, loud amplified music, crowds, vehicle activity, and work on grass, pavement and other outdoor surfaces.
All personnel are expected to work safely, follow the established chain of command, remain flexible as operational needs change, and maintain a professional attitude when interacting with guests, vendors, artists, contractors, City personnel and fellow event staff.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE
The operational objective is to safely and efficiently construct, operate and restore the festival site while creating a welcoming guest experience that reflects the character of the event:
Texas music. Authentic BBQ. Community. Hospitality. A festival that truly Feels Like Home.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
